We finally received confirmation that Falcon (the blue container) made it through the last hurdles on the way home. We are unloading Falcon on Saturday 9/20, from 9am until noon.
When – Saturday, September 20, 9am – noon
Where – Zeppelin Hall parking lot in Jersey City NJ
(same location we use for Love Burn load-in/out)
LOCATION UPDATE!!
The Falcon unload will take place at the back of the Zeppelin Hall parking lot in Jersey City. This is the same location as Love Burn load-in/out, for those familiar. It is near the regular Marina parking lot, but not the same, due to cost considerations.
(see also: help us find a new (future) load-in/out location)
We hope that everyone who has stuff on Falcon can make it there on Saturday. Please practice radical self-reliance. If you cannot be there yourself, ask a friend, a campmate, or a neighbor if they can do you a solid.
BUT if you absolutely cannot be there we commit to picking up your bins for you and temporarily storing them until you can pick them up from us. Please, if you can, let us know if this might be the case for you.
If we end up picking up and storing your bins, we cannot guarantee an exact pickup date or location. Much will depend on the number of bins we have to deal with. If it is minimal, then remaining bins or other items will most likely be available for pickup in downtown Manhattan from Isabeau’s apartment. If there’s a lot, then we’ll have to see. Maybe at the next burner happy hour.
Again though: please do what you can to pick up your bins or have them picked up, and keep things simple for yourself, the container crew volunteers, and others.
LOST & FOUND bins/batteries from regular load-out
Did you forget to pick up a bin, tent, battery, or other item from the container at the regular load-out? Well, here’s your chance. Please don’t miss it! This time of year, we are frankly sick to the stomach at the sight of dusty yellow top bins, and that’s if they are our own. We **DO NOT** enjoy dealing with other people’s left behind dusty stuff, especially not if we have to also chase around those people via phone or txt. Again: please be radically self-reliant. Just because we are making an exception for people on Falcon doesn’t mean it applies to anyone else.
IMPORTANT REMINDERS!
- As with load-in, HELP EACH OTHER OUT to unload our community containers together!
- Please arrive early! Especially if your bins are close to the doors
- Your bins WILL be unloaded and placed in the parking lot even if you aren’t there yet
- Any items left behind after noon *will be considered abandoned*
- CAMPS or groups coming with trucks: get there early! We will do our best to keep truck lanes open to back up to the containers, but y’all know how it goes
- YOU WILL GET DUSTY! Don’t wear black 😁
- If you are staying for a while to help, park INSIDE the roped off area. If you park outside this area you can only stay parked there for 15 minutes
If you can’t pick up your items call a friend, please practice self-reliance and figure it out yourself. We are not able to pick up your personal items for you or make special arrangements such as storing them temporarily.
As always, NYC Container Crew is not responsible for damaged or lost items.
